What is Low-Iron Glass?

Ultra low-iron glass is created by reducing the amount of iron added to the molten mixture of materials required to make float glass. Less iron in the blend results in a clearer product with a high visible light transmission. Also, the traditional greenish tint exhibited by standard processed glass is diminished.

AGC’s ultra low-iron glass, Clearvision™, possesses exceptional clarity thanks to a visible light transmission of 92%. It floods interior spaces with light, and features a neutral, slightly blue edge color. All ultra low-iron glass has some edge color, yet Clearvision has a significantly clearer edge as compared to regular, clear float glass.

Clearvision is available in a wide range of thicknesses from 3mm up to 12mm. It can be laminated, heat-treated, bent, silk-screened, and insulated.
